A little to thick for cold weather and a stock toleranced engine,, maybe a 10W40 but not a 20W50,, in the summer you can get away with using 20W50

When running an FP turbo the key is that your oil must have enough Zinc and Phos content,, actually this is a good pratice for any vehicle that has been moded.

i know W stands for winter

the lower the first number the better the oil will flow, the higher that number the worst it will flow,,, you have to remember that your 4G63 engine was clearanced to use 10W30 not 20W50,, when using a 50 oil is like trying to sip through a cofee straw some maple syrup it will hard right ??

rule of thumb is you can olways go up a grade or two in viscocity's but not to fr up the latter... remember i have been doing this oil thing for a while

That's what Ive heard as well. Sucks really because Penn is awesome oil and for racing oil at 5 bucks a qt you can't really beat it. And it's delicious on salads.

True, yes. I wonder what shipping is though? A case is heavy. I found it on Amazon as well. Just figured the shipping would be thru the roof.

Somtimes you can find it cheaper but when you find it with free shipping its always more expensive. The last time I ordered a case I got it for 58 bucks and it was 15 to shop it. So wasn't really that bad. Being your a dealer I am sure you can get it alot cheaper, and it isn't like amsoil is bad or nothing. I know the stuff I would have to run here where I live is truely more expensive for me to buy qts or even a case with no shipping.

If the buyers aren't greedy you can usually find it for 10 to 15 bucks, but you get the people who will lowball the oil and charge up the *** in shipping so it is a crapshoot anymore.

Brad Penn is not a full Synthetic. I ran Brad Penn for a year and then switch to the far superior Amsoil. I currently run 20w50 Zrod and that is all I run in all of our cars. I am hands down Amsoil. I like the full Synthetic as it offers better protection and is high in zinc which is important for motor/turbo health/longevity

Easy E-tough guy.

What FP's chart?? Sorry I don't fall under that umbrella.

It was brought up that Mobil 1 is junk and shouldn't be used in any cars. That is what I responded to. I said nothing about a turbo, though the OP did, however like I said this is not what I responded to.

Funny thing is that "list" was made because of the old JB turbo bearing materials. How true does it hold now with their BB turbos?? Not sure you can answer that one huh E-thug

Currently running BP 20w-50 on track. Considering going back to Amsoil to try Zrod. Used to run Dominator but was losing 1/2qt/d and with BP I lose 1/2qt/2d.
