PCV Valve on valve cover popped off

Is that bad? what does it mean? it's the PCV valve that is located on the back side of the cam shaft cover near the Oil cap on my 8. It popped out, and a little oil came out too. I just put it back in for now, should it pop in? snap in? or what? and it sounds like there is a loose spring in the valve is that normal?
Thanks guys!

You are getting pressure in the valve cover or that pcv valve is stuck.

I had that issue with my old VIII, replaced it with an OEM valve and all was fine.

My dip stick doesn't pop out and if I blow on the valve and suck on it would that tell me if its clogged up?

You don't have to blow on it, just shake it back and forth, it should move freely. Just make sure it mounted in the right direction.

well it does shake back and forth and it just goes in, loosely?
and which is the right direction?
what would cause the valve cover to build pressure?

It's a friction fitted part,so just make sure it's tight in there and that it's working right,it's supposed to point to the timing belt side of the engine, crankcase pressure is a normal occurrence inside any engine, specially turbocharged ones, the engine has the pcv system in place to expel the blow by gasses out of the engine thereby preventing the build up of gases, the only thing that would prevent the pcv system from working would be a bad pcv valve (stuck closed or clogged) or a closed or clogged intake breather hose,or the engine might be generating extra blow by gases due to bad or worn out piston rings.
