Question AVCR overboosting & sensor is making a noice..

today suddenly the avcr started showing overboosting figures in the screen (2.42, 1.60 , 2.04..etc) its currently on 1bar boost and when i accelerate the boost goes higher & higher. and when i turn off the engine the avcr sensor fixed to the engine bay makes a sound for about 6secs and turn off.. can somebody help me with this please?? ..

Sounds like a vacuum blockage? Does the car feel any faster/slower?

didn't accelerate much due to overboost problem.. are you talking about vacuum line which connects to the sensor?

Could the solenoid that comes with AVCR be going bad.

BTW.....I haven't messed with one of those since i had a boosted Honda over 10 years ago.

I would suggest having a tuner look at the car for you.

Testing an overboost problem by seeing if the car is faster isn't really the way to do it... but...

1. If the sensor is going bad, it will just give false boost readings with no change in performance.
2. Just because a gauge/controller/etc says that your car is overboosting, doesn't mean that it is. But I wouldn't suggest just blowing your motor over it either.

So have someone who can actually do some diagnostics on it, look into it for you...
