jestr is/was one of the best ecuflash tuners, then went to the "darkside" that is the cobb ap lol he knows his stuff really well i would for sure go with him. as for the cut out yea it sounds like your plugs. lastly not to sound like a douche but if your already getting sick of the diy stuff the evo may not be for you. at the end of the day its a mitsubishi and LOVES attention. when you do get new plugs go iridium theyll last a lot longer for you compared to traditional copper (15-20K compared to 3-5k)

I feel your pain with driving distance to tuners. I am right above you in montana. I will be trailering my Evo to Portland, WA to English Racing for my rebuild and tune. They seem to be the only competent people anywhere near me. Wouldnt hurt to head that way; its approx 10hrs from my location but idk about you. Give them a call and they will try and help you out

+1. One long trip for a custom tailored tune is worth it.

I had him tune my car when i first bought it. Knew nothing about Evo's and I immediately knew I was in good hands. While he tuned my car, I asked him anything I could think up. He knew the answers straight from memory. Aaron lives and breaths these cars.

A tune via email will be pretty good but to have the tuner in your car, it would be nearly perfect.

If you can, do as many mods as you can before the tune. Anything to maximize the gains and reliability(fuel) you will get. (fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, intake) and also make sure your car is... Uh.. Fresh. Boost leak test, spark plugs, clean air filter and oil change. Last two probably don't matter much but i'd do it anyways.

Yeah Aaron is the one I have been talking to. He is very good at providing an accurate diagnosis as long as you can provide a good description of the problem. Mail in tune just doesn't compare IMO. If you have to no choice but to do it that route at least give them a call to figure out your complications

its not your gap your probably driving your ecu crazy, you have additional fuel and increased air mods.....which will affect your air fuel ratio, and probably your timing wasnt advanced due to it, so your probably hitting fuel cut, or you could be overboosting and hitting boost cut. Best bet have a remote tune done with your accessport like someone posted, or take out the accessport and have someone do it with the stock ecu.

BTW - what the others members said, you really need a re-tune for your parts. That should be your #1 priority.

You wouldnt increase gap if he is experiencing spark blow out....

Gap .18 - .22

Your totally right man i wrote the wrong thing. You want decrease the gap. When everything is running well and you add a cop then you can increase the gap. When my car was nreaking up i decreased the gap. My bad op.

Sorry I have been quite busy boys. I live in cody btw Rory. And ok so here are my dyno results.... before 303.2 hp, 271.4 ft lb. After was 318.9 hp, 304.6 ft lb. Not exactly the best numbers but the guy at racing trenz told me this was due to the fact his dynomite dynometer simulates driving on the street so it will get lower numbers than say a dynojet. What do all you guys think? My car is ripping and gets like 30 mpg highway now so im happy with that but id like to get your guys opinions.
