First off, I am the original owner of my Evo 9 I bought 6 years ago and yes it is lightly modified with some bolt-ons but all stock internals/cams/etc. and it is tuned on 93. I recently started getting the 3 lights of death for my ACD pump and I do plan to replace the fluid and bleed the system. But if that doesn't work, I can't see how a car with 48,000 miles can be denied a warranty fix on something that isnt effected by the mods at all. It is an actual design flaw with the ACD pump itself. And since it's for the drivetrain I would assume that is covered under the powertrain warranty? But as we all know this is Mitsubishi we're talking about here. Any ideas if this is covered, hell I just want a new pump and Ill install it myself

I know about the rebuild kits but I want to avoid that option as this is obviously a recurring problem with the Evo 7/8/9 and even 10!

 

warranty on an 06 is 5yr/60000 miles. it is under the powertrain. it probably depends on what dealer you bring it to since you have mods. mine was covered at 37000 with loud lopey cam idle etc, they didnt care and understood it was a common problem ...maybe i was lucky

 

Yeah and by law they can't say oh this mod created the failure because that is just BS! It just sucks this happened with only 3 payments left on the car and not a year ago under warranty. But I really do think I was given a 100,000 mile powertrain? I'll have to go back and look but that was from a dealer in PA, and now im in the midwest as Im military and lost all continuity with my original dealer I bought a 350Z and an Evo from, bummer!
