missing something

A little over a year ago I had some trany work on my 03 VIII. The other day on the way home, it felt like something got caught in the left wheel well, and then run over and lost out on the interstate. Not long after that I had more sounds of something vibrating, colliding with the tire and it turned out the leading section of the wheel well was hitting the tire. I made a temp fix with some armature wire, but it looks like the whole inner panel of the wheel well is now missing. I don't have a spare Evo to compare it to. The doofus who did the trany work evidently didn't secure it well enough.

Is this an item common to all Lancers, one I could go pull out of a parts yard? In heavy rain it sometimes feels as if that leading section is loose again, but I check and its secure. Somehow the water makes it vibrate hard the faster I go, I guess. I need a more permanent fix, and don't want to pay a dealer for the part.

not common to lose, but I can't imagine it would be expensive to replace. it's an individual plastic piece that covers the area. looks like you'll have to re-order the entire liner for that piece (correct me if i'm wrong)

$307 for the part is what I was hoping to avoid.

:-) Thanks for the help.

It does look like the part is an Evo part and not something I could pull out of a garden variety Lancer.

I don't believe the part you are looking for is the fender liner itself but the plastic piece just inside each liner that prevents debris from entering the engine compartment. There is one on each side that bolts to the frame and has a few plastic clips that secure it to the fender liner. I purchased it from MITS Dealer last year and I don't remember spending any more than $100 for both sides.
