ok guys i have been a member for a little, jus never posted on the forums..... now i have a situation i just need some clarification on, it was a small road run off i had today.

ok heres the details, i was coming around a right hand corner, its a 20 mile hour turn, normally i take this at 30 because its like right near my house, but today was a little different. i was going maybe 38 or so, i take my corner, and all of a sudden, rear end whips out like if im drifting,llike if i kept steering to the right than i tried to correct it by counter steering, well thats a big fail, it whips me back to the left. now im going to try to describe in detail....

now when it whipped to the left, basically i was going straight to the corner... sorry guys look im going to post a quick drawing lol i cant explain it cuz im so pissed!



ok so basically, after going around the corner and hitting the curb, the damage i seen after i got out was both of pass side rims are bent, the rear right rims has positive camber( not good), the front pass side camber seems fine. i see grass under like swap bar area.

and the one that makes me think this car is toast is, near the sunroof area, like around the opening seems like i tried to fold the car, basically seems like at the rear part of sunroof area. its like 2 wavy like dents at each opening . the cars motor is fine everything seems fine because i just drove it back home because i was maybe 2 mins from home.

now please guys just to be clear, no i was not drunk, i was not racing, i was not trying to stunt. i got out the car, and i walked to the area that i slid, and it seems to be oil there big time. someone attempted to clean it but not good enough. i know this is going to be expensive, progressive is not going to cover it long story.


but what im in need of what you guys think, fix her up and sell it or just fix and keep. im just worried about the roof area, like i dont want the frame to be bent or something. i mean i see the roof in some post i read they are detachable somehow. my plans where to fix the suspension, all control arms, all new hubs and wheel bearings and anything to do with the drive train.

gentle men edit, ok looking more at the damage, it seems i have positive camber on the pass side and some negative on the driverside. not looking too good so far

Any decent auto body shop will have a laser alignment rack for the body. They can work wonders. Atleast let you know if the car is tweeked towards the center. These cars not acutally having a frame. The body is modled as part of the frame being awd most cases once there tweeked to middle its toast.

 

hey man thanks for the fast reply, im guessing 2 things either its bent a tad, or maybe shockwave? but its on both sides, im guessing its bent a tad, well i guess im gonna get a 9 now.

i mean i might just fix it, than sell it ot trade it. i dont know yet, it sucks because im going to afgahnistan soon like in 2 weeks not as army, but contractor, and me i hate having broke stuff and i want to fix it now. but i wont have time, so while im gone im getting it towed to the frame place and see whats going on. i also checked all the panels and every crack and all the panels align good.

Doesnt look like it would be to much work to get it back to a straight roller. Two wheels, sway bar, the lower suport. Plus frame shop should be able to square it up couldnt imagine tweeking it two much without hitting something towards the middle of the car. With it having a sun roof thats proably the weakest point in the car. Should be able to fix her pretty easy. Didnt see the pics first time I posted.

 

ok looked at it more, seems the drivers side has some negative camber also. so it means im gonna change all that out too. im still worried about the frame, sucks that im leaving soon to deploy tho, so alot of work im gonna gonna be able to actually be there,so i have to find a person i can trust to not screw me

Dam the curb must have stoped the car dead. That's the resonance why the roof looks crushed like that. It like everyone says take it to the shop theirs alot of good body men out their that can make the thing look like new. Ifthe car doesn't have and drivablity issues after done fixing it why sell it?

 

i mean it didnt really stop it on a dead stop, it actually got over the curb becasue the other side or drivers side rear is cambered negative a bit. but i mean i have a gentlemen looking at it this weekend, since i cant be there hes gonna send his tow truck to have it picked up and put on a frame machine to check it out.

i mean i dont want to sell it, but if i fix it im thinking really hard on picking up a evo X, when i get back from deployment, or just keeping the 8, and modding it to hell alot more.
