Is the bulb missing/blown, or is the harness not even present?

Check to see if the plastic connector is connected to the trunk latch. The light should come on anytime you open the trunk.

My 9 gsr had a trunk light. the light uses the trunk itself as a ground, if u have a carbon fiber trunk the light will not turn on since electricity cant flow through carbon fiber. all i did was add an extra wire for the ground and now my trunk light turns on

But where is this bulb because i can't find anything. The previous owner cut out a piece of the rear shelf for a sub port,so maybe the bulb sat there.

Because our cars' rear quarters are so well-sealed.

You know, somehow I can tolerate the general ricer ignorance we see of the forums, and perhaps even enjoy it to some degree, but when that same brutal ignorance translates into a topic requiring more expertise than opening a bolton catalog, there's only so much patience to be had. (what a sentence lol)

FWIW, my IX has a trunk light.

I likely know more about audio in the CT9A than anyone you'll ever meet. My comment was nothing more than a reflection of reality.

Edit: The cutting of the rear shelf piqued my interested. I mean, it's a pretty drastic step. Having looked at your past threads, your car's last owner wasn't too swift all the way around. Why would the electrical system be any different? And so it goes: Folks who do substandard work do substandard work. Purely superficial. Doesn't matter what it is.
