Anyways Once again, the threadstarter shouldnt have to alter his exhaust, because some cop has too much spare time on his hands, and the dunkin doughnuts drive thru is jammed. i dont give a rat's *** how they do it in "ol El Paso" but here in in SoFla which is a very busy and populated area, and just in case you doubted my employment i work for the broward county sheriff's office i know how cops are here and speaking from my experience most cops whether their county, city, or even state would even blink an eye a altered muffler.

Once again if you feel your a lawyer and you feel like reading more statutes , rules and regulations, maybe you should start chasing ambulances and passing out your business card
Haha! You are not even worth the response on an internet forum. I will just leave you looking like an idiot all by your lonesome. The OP's question has already been answered and I believe he has already left this thread, as will I. Good day!

I had a similar problem. I was at a gas station and a motorcycle cop pulled up behind me. I thought he was going to get me for filling up with E85, but I don't know if there's anything wrong with that. He just pretended to get gas or was just waiting, I wasn't trying to make eye contact. All I did was start my car, no revving, nothing and he pulls me over immediately! As he's talking to me, a Harley drives by so loud that we can't hear each other talk.

Any how just like other places, we aren't allowed, by law, to alter the exhaust so it's louder than stock.

Here's a link to my thread of the Boost Actuated Exhaust Cutout.

I basically run a stock cat back, 3" DP and 3" Test Pipe. The Cutout does rumble at idle and part throttle, but it's not bad, due to exhaust leaking past the cutout butterfly valve. I'm designing a new one that won't leak, but it takes some money and time (which I'll have in the Fall and Winter).

I haven't been pulled over once since.

I used to live in Detroit area, cops never even looked at me for a loud exhaust, 3'' all the way back. I moved out to the west side of the state, after about a year living here I got pulled over twice in like 6 months. 2nd time was older female cop, she asked me "how long has it been like this?", I said "8yrs", she said "you should get that fixed" lmao I didn't have the heart to tell her it was supposed to be like that. Didn't get a ticket either time...no wing, no tinted windows, they just think I need a new exhaust. lol Both times was leaving work and pulling out as quite as possible. I can only imagine what they would think if they heard it WOT@8500rpm.

When I hit 5# of boost it starts to crack open and fully open at 10#'s. I can pull from a light with decent accel being quiet as long as I keep it under 5#'s. I usually just accelerate until I hear it start to open up.

I must admit this is an excellent setup quiet for dd and loud and full of performance when you start to rip it... Best of both worlds in my eyes

Also another exhaust would be the Tanabe Touring Medallion. Very stock looking yet great flowing exhaust. Also be aware of what day of the month it is. I know in CA. the end of the month is the time to weary of po po.

Isn't CA a decibel law state? I think it's 95 dB last time I was out there.
