evo overheating after swapping new motor in
So I swapped it my old 500HP evo 8 motor for another stock 8 motor..and I can drive the car but I have a couple issues
1. I changed all my vac lines and a shop still wants to change then for new ones..i'm tyring to get a new tune
2. It idles at 200 RPMs and can stay at 2k-2500rpms after I drive it
3. It overheats when I drive it for a couple minutes do I have to blast the heat
So I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice..im having troubles so any help will do..i'm also on speed density do no mafsenors..
Mods are
Garrett gt30, fmic, uicp,licp, exhaust.mani, 1200cc injectors pte, buscher

Also could an old thermo stat cause this?

I just did a air bubble test thing to let the bubbles out..it ended up overflowing..but it idled a little higher than normal which is good..now i'm idling around 700rpms..how can I tell/smell coolant from the motor?I know if you see white smoke that's a sign...what else?
I think I have a bad head gasket..haven't checked the oil yet..will do tmrw but my coolant keeps dissipating..no leaks visible..no white smoke..is it possible to just replace the gasket before its too late? Or will I need to get the head resurfaced for the new gasket?
I have a built head sitting around from the old motor..i'm going to get that checked out by the same shop..i just don't want to throw it on because I really don't want anything but stock HP hahaha..but I guess that's NY only option
Yes I will look for that first thing tmrw morning!I haven't seen smoke so hopefully its not to bad yet lol..if you don't mind what happened to yours? And are you taking about the arp L19 head studs?
Well i bought the car dirt cheap, it had been sitting in a garage for a year. It was missing a freeze plug in the block and one on the back side of the FP Green turbo, this tiny 14mm freeze plug. So I tore it apart, got a new battery for it, new NGK plugs, drained the e85 and put new gas in, new oil, new coolant, started her up and she ran fine for 20 minutes just idling, didnt overheat or anything then boom, **** ton of white smoke out the exhaust still while idling. So i shut her off and started ripping her apart, again. Im not too worried, i got it dirt cheap, as in i could get a 650hp engine and a 550hp tranny build buy jacks transmission and i would just be coming up to the Blue Book price on it.
And yes I am talking about the L19's, I decided to go with those and an OEM headgasket. Dont want the head to lift after Ive replaced everything, especially with the FP Green on E85. Contemplated throwing in some cams while i was tearing it up but I didnt want to spend the money until im positive its bug free.
