Not to be mean about it or anything but if you're concerned about the fuel consumption then maybe you shouldlook into a different car. Agreed, mpg is crappy on these cars but its a high maintenance sports car. Opinions to improve? If you have a boost controller turn it all the way down, always check tire pressure, and use a fuel injector cleaner so that the injectors are releasing enough fuel. G/l with the mpg

A tune to lean out the cruise range to 15.2AFR will help as well as staying out of boost and driving the car smoothly.

Stay out of boost and get a tune vehicle tune rich so you don't blow it up. No need the stock air box any intake will do just shift at low rpm or do 1-3-5 so you don't hit boost g/l

Wanting to improve mpg isn't unreasonable, especially when the OP is only getting 15 mpg. I can afford the gas without any problems, but I still try to get better gas mileage when I can.

Always check your tire pressures, but if you're only getting 15 mpg (though a lot will depend on how modded your car is), it's likely that your driving style is sucking down a lot of gas. I have every single tank of gas from my two Evos documented on MS Excel, and my worst mpg from normal driving was 17.8 mpg. You probably just give the car a lot of gas very frequently (which is obviously fun), but accelerate more slowly and shift at a reasonable rpm while going into a higher gear when it's appropriate to do so... I've seen so many stick drivers stay in a lower gear far too long when they're just driving in a straight line at a consistent speed but without the need to accelerate.

Tire pressure, air/fuel ratios, good tune if you have aftermarket parts. It all adds up.

However the best way to save MPG on the Evo?

Get a daily driver.

For most Evo owners fuel, isn't really a concern as this is an issue we knew of before purchasing the car. You can't expect the gas mileage of a civic with awd and turbo in the mix lol.

My advice if you want to "try" to save on fuel would be to stay off boost, check your tire pressure regularly, make sure you have a good tune and try not to drive around any overweight women lol.
