I've been wondering if anybody has gutted their stock hood. It seems simple enough and would be lighter still than most carbon holds out there.

 

What is there to gut? It is just a vent which weighs next to nothing and a small insulation shield which also weighs next to nothing. The stock hood is lighter than pretty much all carbon fiber hoods.

u can get about 8 lbs from removing the bracing. that thread there is pure gold!

damn, you are a very nice person. Even broke it down to the post. I love that thread, but going back to it and finding info can be tough sometimes, lol

 

lol i was looking at doing this myself and im re-reading that thread right now. i have been going through and bookmarking certain pages in that thread that i want to do and i title the bookmark with the post # so its easy to pull back up again.

 

if you gut the insulation... id gladly buy it from you
