High idle after oem tb install

To make a long story short my old throttle body had a boost leak in the shaft seal so I tried fixing it n it didn't work. I bought a semi used throttle body from an evo 8 and after installing it my car would not idle below 2k, and sometimes it would jump from 900 to 1400 while coasting. I tried researching but got nowhere. Any insight? Thank u
Btw. I used the tps from my evo 9 on the evo 8 throttle body if that makes a difference

Is the TPS in the right spot? just a thought. Use evo scan to adjust properly. I believe between 12-15 is correct.

Make sure there are no vacuum leaks and check the BISS screw.

I don't have the evo scan but I know the tps isn't in the correct spot, I tried to adjust it by hand and listening to the idle but it still never goes below 2k

Did you follow a How To when removing/installing your TB? I ask because I am about to replace the seals myself with the MilSpec replacements and was reading through a How To and it says your idle could get be slightly off if the TPS is not installed in the same spot as before...

This link...Read item 1

Just a thought...

this is the exact how to i followed when i replaced the shaft seal before i replaced the entire throttle body, i made the mistake of rubbing off the markings i made adjacent to the tps to make sure it was in the correct position. so i just adjusted the tps by hand until the idle sounded correct but it never was. i dont know what else to do

If you could borrow someones tactrix cable or if you do not mind buying one ( which is a great investment) I would do that. If you purchase one, just get the 1.3 it is cheaper.

I had the same problem when i changed my TB. All you need to do is adjust the TB Senor and make sure its in the correct position. It fixed my high idle problem.

LOL...this is his problem...he already adjusted the TB sensor position but it was never back to normal.

Do you have any tips or tricks for him or was it adjusted by listening to the change in idle rpm (this is what the OP did already)?
