I pulled off my oil cap today and noticed white glue type residue on it. is this something i need to be worried about?
what is it and how could i test for issues?

Usually white stuff under the oil cap is an indication of moisture in the oil. Common in most cases especially with European vehicles. Do you drive the vehicle to full operating temperatures? A better PCV system will help.

 

This is a normal condition. Its is condensation and I see it almost everyday at the garage.

 

Thats happened to every car I've had because I lived in a humid area in the north.. Its just condensation in the oil system.
