What air filter are the best?
Hello guys, how knows what Air Filter are the best for turbo protect, i'm living at Lima Peru and here the highway are dirty you will find dust and mini a little stones, last time i had use and K&N air filter with my new pte6262 and i have found one of the wheel blades broke by a possible a little stone, now i have a brand new turbo and i don't want to take the chance to brake it again, i have an brand new blue Amsoil dry air filter but seems really thing to good filtered, please help.
I have used Amsoil dry flow filters like you just bought in the past and they worked excellent! No need to apply oil and such like on many of the K&N filters which reminds me I'm getting rid of my K&N and getting another Amsoil! Haha
Yeah amsoil filter looks great but very thing, the different is than in USA highways are clean here are dirty and i don't know if amsoil will do the job! can you believe than most evo race car here runs Mitsubishi truck filter?? it crazy.

I have a K&N filter on my Evo IX currently, haven't had any issues thus far. Aside from that you can't go wrong with amsoil filters. the Perrin foam filter is supposed to be really good too. I was thinking about switching it up to that in the near future

Here's a link I came across with some dyno comparissons of various filters for the Evo VIII/IX. Seems like the Perrin foam filter out performs the rest in regards to peak hp.

If you live in a very dirty/dusty area I'd definitely go for the Perrin since it can hold a lot of debris before becoming plugged. The Amsoil will be easier to clean though since you only need compressed air.
