The SSQV sound is very irritating. I almost want to put a bullet in someone's head every time I hear it. Avoid going VTA if you are still using your maf. You will run into all sorts of driveability problems. You can recirculate the SSQV but... the sound.

I hear good things about the Synapse but the vibe I get is the setup may or may not need adjustment. Some work right out of the box and others you may need to adjust it to get it right.

If you are relatively stock. An Evo IX DV would be your best bet. Look for one that isn't crushed (they usually will say if it is). If you are wanting something that has a nice sound, you can hear the diverter valve if you have a open element filter (cone filter) It's noticeable but subtle. Believe me, after awhile, a loud bov if become annoying.

There is no comparison. The HKS SSQV is junk, and the Synapse Synchronic is excellent. I've been running the Synapse BOV for 3 years now, and have an HKS SSQV collecting dust in a box somewhere.

HKS SSQV's are for hardcore applications only. Nothing short of 800hp can handle them.

I have an ssqv its been on my car since bought it never had any problems with it. Sound wise before its recirculated its pretty am loud even when recirculated its loud. But it doesnt bother me I like loud.

Maybe I'm just lucky though ? I'd go with what the masses say.
