HELP! Annoying clicking coming from drivers wheel
when driving STRAIGHT i have an audible clicking noise coming from my drivers side front wheel area. the clicking progresses as speed increases and its driving me nuts. no clicking when turning left or right. i thought it was my coilover, checked itand everything is tight. inspected the tire, no rocks in tread or nails. wheel is torqued down good too. cv boots arent torn. i'm stumped.
I have the exact same issue, my friend. I've yet to do this since I'm super lazy, but jack the car up and wiggle the wheels, if there is play then your wheel bearing is out. I'm guessing my bearings are shot as well.
it started after getting an alignment 2 days ago to correct my crooked steering wheel. i called justtires and they said to bring it by tomorrow they will look at it i will post progress i guess.. i hope its not a cv shaft.
Did some more research and I think it might be the CV Joint.
When the outer cv joint goes bad it clicks while turning. When the inner cv joint goes bad, you usually hear noise from it when accelerating. Like was mentioned, look for grease because a torn boot where the grease leaked out is usually the reason for the joints going up.
