there are 2 types of senders...

it has 3 wires (red/black/green if I remember correctly = 12V/GND/signal)

and

has 2 wires (probably orange and white)

That's the reason you see 5 wires in the sender's harness...to accommodate both possibilities..

 

Ok I have the second one.

So what would the correct wiring.

Looks like I google it and the Green wire goes to the G on sender unit and the other wire gets grounded.

So to sum it up, green for signal and ground on sensor

Then the red from gauge is power and black also gets grounded.

The white and orange are for selecting color.

I haven't tested this yet but I will later
