What is this noise? SEE VIDEO

So I've had this low pitch whine sound for awhile now. I recently installed an Exedy Triple Plate SR and I now have about 1k miles on it. The car makes this whine every time I accelerate my vehicle from a stop while the clutch is still depressed. The sound is coming from the front driver side area of the car. I have no idea what it is but I know that it isn't my brakes because I just replaced them yesterday. Please disregard the brake squeal as I'm running semi-metallic pads. Anyone running an Exedy multiplate with the same whine?

Yeah my brother's Quarter Master 8-leg makes a similar sound. First guess is clutch, second guess is Tranny. Have you replaced the tranny oil and looked for shavings yet?

Clutch. Try heating it up to clean the debris off it.

Could be the transmission or transfer case? I don't know. Have you had the same issue?

I used to get this noise during the first 500 miles after getting my act xtss installed during cold mornings. If I had to guess, it has to do with the throw out bearing angle on the input shaft of the transmission as the pressure plate comes into contact with the clutch disk and flywheel. I used to feel vibrations through the pedal as well when it happened. Sounds like it needs to be greased up.

If it were the trans or transfer case you could replicate the noise without your foot pushing half way down on the clutch pedal. Yes it's a common issue with multi disk clutches.

so i asked shep trans to look at this and they say that this noise is normal with many multi-plate and semi-metallic clutches. glad i didn't pop off the transmission to "clean" it. FIRE IS ROLLING...NFI!

You can "clean" it by getting it hot with a little abuse, the last step in the breakin process.
