For Christmas this year, I got my son his first track day as one of his presents. So, we prepped his M3 (he's got a full ride to college for golf, so I got him a 'fun' car), and got ready to go. Then, in true dad style, I jacked up his brakes right before we were supposed to leave. So, to stay true to my word, I let him drive the Evo instead... pics below ...

Oh .. and I took the wife's Caddy too .. It wasn't as fast as the Evo through the corners, but it was a BEAST on the straights, and it drifted really nice. But, I only did one session, as I was scared I'd do something dumb.

 

What a awesome dad, I miss my m3's as they were fun and great handling cars. Hey you wouldn't be looking to adopt another kid (me) would you? Looks like you and your son had a blast.

 

This is so awesome, what a great xmas present! I hope to be able to do this with a son/daughter when I get to that stage in my life. Props to you sir for being an awesome Dad!

I much rather track my Evo than the 99' M3 I had.

 

Both completely different, close friend of mine has a really well setup E36 M3 and the thing is fast. In a different way than our cars, but I enjoy AWD grip and the overall rawness of our cars too much to find another car.

@OP kudos to you for getting out there with your son! Hope to one day be able to do lapping days with my son. You have an awesome stable of cars too
