Waste-gate solenoid valve operation
Waste-gate solenoid valve operation
Hi guys ,
I just want to know about a waste gate solenoid valve operation , is it normally open and close when it gets the signal or vice versa?
If I dismount it and blow air in the nipples ,is it open ?
Please some one explain the operation please .

i believe the valve is normally closed during normal operating conditions. so that it can reach the target boost pressure. when it starts to exceed pass the target pressure it opens and bleeds it off so the wastegate opens. when it drops below it closes to reach target pressure again.
valves are designed with fail positions, in this case it should fail open to prevent over pressure. so if not hooked up, u should be able to blow air thru.
