No SES on start-up. Need Help

Alright so I took my Evo to emission and it passed everything other than, the visual lights test. Now I had never noticed it before or I would have tried to figure it out before taking it to the test station. At the time, car had nothing in it other than a forge bov and intercooler. The ses light does not come on for the few seconds after startup like it should so I failed the test. I tore the dash apart and checked the bulb, which was good, replaced it just in case, still not light. I can put a multimeter on the circuit where the bulb makes contact and it gets power there but it's not illuminating the bulb. I figured maybe someone had turned it off through a flash but having power at the circuit made no sense to me. I need help, I don't know what else to look at here.

bulbs are hot at key on. it's not getting grounded. check your harness. start by grounding right at the connector and moving towards the ecu.

I have the same issue with my oil light not coming on. I suspect the instrument cluster is defective.

I figured it may be ground controlled. Is there a pinout of the gauge cluster connectors available? And thanks for the reply by the way.

So I should be able to jump the blue/white wire at pin 12 to ground and the light should work then. I traced the wires best I could on the diagrams in the service manual. Could the ground control have been disabled by flashing the ecu?

check the sender under the intake manifold.shine a flashlight between the runners. the brass lug has a way of breaking at the bend. its a ***** to reach/repair.

Even if the oil pressure sensor failed, it should still light up in the cluster with key on. All the cluster does when you turn the key on is a bulb check.

no it wont still light , its dependant on a ground to light it , the oil pressure sender grounds it when oil pressure is low. theres is no bulb test on evo1 to 9

take the wire off the sensor then get a piece of wire join into the connector and ground it light should come on with ign on of course .
