Evo 8 Build!

Got some time so I thought Id put together a build thread!

2004 SSL

put 1000 miles on it and then cylinder one got 75% blowby so time to build her.

its going to be a slow process but Ive got a good start.

the plan as of right now:

JAM 2.3 "FULL RACE" shortblock
billet crankshaft, ams style pan, fluidamper, and some other lil goodies
JAM Stage 3 Head
unsure on the cam im going to run
Sheepey FF 6870 kit

Sheepey 1000hp intercooler and piping

Golden Eagle intake manifold

70mm TB

ID2000s

BR Double Pumper

QM 8 Leg

Stock ecu for now

PPG Dogbox, or TRE trans with 4.11

TRE T-case

TRE Rear diff

other little things

SO... the motor is out at JAM, waiting for a final cost then going to order up the turbo kit and a few things listed, ill try and keep yall updated as I go

GSC s2 cams are very good. A lot of people use em, they hold up mint, can take good power.

Thanks for the comments, Tony @ Jackson is going to flow the head and make a Cam recommendation from there.

*Little Update*
Put the deposit down on the long block. A LOT of good stuff is going in this. Super excited.

Do you have the money for all this or is it a wish list? Very nice build if it comes together.

Nice build! Can't wait to see it.
As far as cams go look into some high duration Kelfords or if you want good HP numbers the STM 650s
Your going dog box so you can't possibly care about driveability anyway.

Just put down $10,600 for a longblock.

Im well aware of how much all of this costs. I have my daily tercel to thank for the ease of saving. Im also 20 years old haha. Idk how much longer my roomie wants to see my cars scattered accross the garage. So im all in on this. In other words. IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN

Ive got a few cams on my mind but Tony has my trust with the choice. A lot of these companies have inflated cam numbers. The good ole cam doctor will tell all.

Also hes putting together the block for me. I just put the subframe back up last week going take it to my shop to finish up. I took it all apart with a $50 tool box I snagged from my bud. Yeahhh not again.

10,6 for a long block is in the lower if non existent end of what people spend to run a 68/70 turbo
You'd need more money or a smaller turbo.
I've been building 1000-2500hp cars for ten years now and can def tell you this build is extremely costly.

The dog box is 5k more than your engine deposit used.
However if you got the close to $60k for the build I see right there then go for it.
However its far from an overnight affair with any ff build so I hope your roomie wont mind a bit more time than you think.
Ive done close to 17 of them in the past five years.
