1-3 are all the same 4-6 are the same 7-9 are all the same minus mivec. Evo 1-3 was the same as the dsm motors, evo 4- to current the motors were 180ed and were all 7 bolts where the 1-3 were all 6 bolts.

 

Its very reliable as long as you take care of it just like any other motor out there

 

so i could only manage to find a evo 6 engine, so its block without the head cannot fit a evo 8 head?

i mean to say evo 8 head and a evo 6 block...or they cannot be mated and have diffrences?

 

There may be differences between the blocks being there were revisions through out the years. Although the motors have stayed pretty much the same since 89, revisions have been made so its really tuff to say. I don't want to tell you the wrong info but I would not try to match the 2. I know that sucks but if you didn't window your blocks and just spun bearings why cant you have your bearing surfaces redone and polished out?
