Ok guys and or gals!!!!!! ****ing car won't stay running. Was running fine when I parked it at work went to goto lunch and it runs for just a sec and dies. If I feather throttle it runs but misses like hell and can smell raw fuel. I replaced cam shaft sensor and it didn't fix problem. Any info is appreciated.

 

Give us some background on the car, millage, maintenance history, mods etc. Also is it throwing any codes? Has it had work done to it recently etc. More info the better

 

Get your flashlight & look at the fuel injector bank & look for a fuel leak. Dont need an EVO going up in flames

 

I had same problem a few months back. It was the maf for me. Try swapping with a friend's maf to see. It won't throw a code as it isn't completely failed. Also check the map sensor as well.

 

It's a English built, stand alone aem. 193,000 miles:-) I unplugged map and tps it wouldn't fire at all. Plugged back in and dame thing ran for about 40 seconds then puttered out. It has a Magnus intake on it too.

 

What is this? MAF, MAP, or TPS
If I unhook battery and leave this unplugged and hook battery back up it runs fine. But then when I plug in is stutters and runs hella rich!!!!

That's the idle air control valve.

 

^^^ Yes, Looks the IAC valve. Stock EVOs are mounted below the TB but yours is not stock but looks like the IAC

Theres a procedure in the manual on how to check it. Ive got it if you need

Hey so do you think it's safe to drive home. It broke down at work and I live 93 miles away from my work. I drove around block a few times it runs good just idle is about 1,300rpm.

 

I certainly cant make that call. You noted smelling fuel. Did you find the source.

Yea that was with iac plugged in not letting air by so it was so rich it wouldn't run.
