Planning to do a full maintience on my 06 iX gsr! Need inputs.
Thanks in advance my fellow Diamonds. New to the evo community. I just purchase a stock evo ix with 135000 miles. Regular maintience is normal like oil, spark plugs and etc. I want to do a full maintience on the iX before I start modifying anything inside. I want to know what else would you guys recommend for me to switch out while I'm doing a full maintience on the engine. Minimum Budget cost : $2000 and above
Timing belt ✔
Serpentine belt ✔
Water pump ✔
Pulleys?
Tensioners?
Any information, experience and thoughts will help a lot. Thank you in advance!

balance shaft belt and tensioner (if the balance shafts haven't been removed)
definitely replace the Timing belt tensioner and idler pulley. You will wan't to replace all drive train fluids (Transmission, transfer case, Rear Diff). Obviously you will be changing the coolant when you do the timing belt so that's covered. You could also bleed the brakes with new brake fluid.

Something that nobody thinks of but will give you peace of mind down the road - all new coolant hoses. One pinhole leak and you are sidelined. There's eight coolant hoses. Also, a new thermostat and radiator cap.

ok boss, I'll take notes
yes, this sounds like a good one . Thank you. I do have an aluminum radiator that was recently put on. I'll switch out all my coolant hoes for reliability! Thank you

I can do that boost leak test once I get most of my new parts into the car. Either way im going to take all of the piping off. Thsee parts are pretty easy to get too so this can come towards the end. Thank you!
Not sure what mods you want to do. But if your thinking cams anytime soon you might want to do them now with springs and head studs so that you don't have to do the timing belt job twice.
I don't know if it's better (or why it would be), but they tend to be slightly less expensive, though with your posted minimum budget, it shouldn't matter. I think the main difference visually was that it's missing some extended piece that would normally bolt down, but I don't think not having it makes that much of a difference.
