Wow that sucks sorry to hear. My guess is somebody is going back to stock with their evo. Keep an eye out on CL for aftermarket seats ecu etc.
As for the ecu where did you get it? What mods are done to your car? There is a chance that for example the injector scaling are wrong and wont allow your car to start. I suspect its just the immobilizer but for all you know the code on the ROM isnt compatible with how your car is currently setup.

Im assuming you're referring to something with the immobilizer in regards to codes here?
Your best bet is a local tuning shop who is familiar with the evo and they can pull the map and see what it has for the immobilizer. Hell, if you have a laptop and tactrix cable pull your ROM message me Ill give you my email and I can see what they have for the immobilizer and disable it for you to see if that does the trick.
