Hi guys, I've been sold a steering rack, which was listed as a evo 5 RS rack by a specialist, to fit in to my 6 gsr.
the rack arrived yesterday and the part numbers don't match the description.
Can anyone of you guys help me out and try to identify which rack this was originally from please?
I've thrown search after search and I'm not getting very far.
Ok, I have since found out that the part number on the yellow sticker could actually be referring to the sticker itself... so that rules that out.
I find it hard to believe that there is no part number stamped on the rack body anywhere... madness.
Tomorrow I will check lock to lock on the car, and turn this one by hand and try to compare them that way.
Just find it odd that the seller listed it as a MR333427 when there is clearly no number to match up too on the rack.
Most parts do not have a fatory part number stamped on the just a manufacturer part id or production date/pant. You would have to remove your steering rack and compare the 2
Thanks for the reply. I've compared what I can while the current rack is still on the car and they seem fairly similar... even the lock to lock seems identical from what I can tell which rules it out as being a RS rack. Thought I was going mad looking for a part no that wasn't there
