Couldn't find any other threads specific to this so, Does the trim panel around the shifter from Evo 9 MR edition fit onto evo 8s and other five speed cars?? I dont know why it wouldn't, but id like some confirmation. I feel like the trim ring thats in the 5 speed cars with the screws in it looks pretty bad and would rather the clean look that trim panel gives.

It fits fine (i have a 5 speed swap) but the shift boot will be loose. You'll have to get a custom boot for it to fit correctly (i believe). I still use the 6 speed boot.

i have the same issue, does anyone know if i can swap out the trim on the mr version?
They're interchangeable with the 5 speed trim and boot if you're asking. However, if you have a 6 speed and a 5 speed trim and boot, the boot will not fit.
