A lot of the desirable parts are stocked in the New Jersey Mitsubishi warehouse. JDM headlights, 7 tail lights, 7 valve covers, double din bezels, etc etc.
Unless it is a weird thing (FQ plate, something rhd, etc), there's no sense in buying from a third party that's just going to jack the price up

Two things...
First, they can ALL order certain JDM part numbers. They can't look them up (less a few, like Kendall). If they are popular parts, the number will show up in the US inventory system so just providing the number will get the information for them.
Second, non-popular parts can usually be acquired, but it's a **** show of work and you'll be hard pressed to get a low pay parts guy to do get the ball rolling, and his part in it is the least of the work.
If you have a part number, go to a site like Mentor Mitsubishi and plug it in... If it shows up with a price, it is one that (at least at some point) was in US stock. You need to contact a dealer to verify if it still is, of it's obsolete, etc. There public websites can't do that.
If you have a part number in question, post it and I can check availability.

japanparts (dot) com You have to give one of the girls the JDM part numbers you want to buy. I've ordered over seven times from them over the past decade w/no problems. Fast shipping too (from Tokyo to STL, MO in four days) - usually its Fed X. You have to pay customs fees too, which is a percentage of the total value of the order.
