I’ve been building my Evo and am in the process of putting everything together. I cannot for the life of my figure out where this wire goes. Or why I unplugged it. Or even if I did unplug it)
Please help!!
If it's a single wire, red w/ white stripe, it plugs into the single blue wire from the power steering pump.
it’s an all black wire with some sort of plug at the end. I found it underneath the heat shield guard or whatever the 02 sensor cable hides behind. It was just laying there.

It's all black because it has plastic heat shielding around it. If you pull the outer shielding back a little, is it red w/ white stripe? In the second picture you posted, I can see a very tiny gap between the black outer shielding and the connector....hard to tell, but it looks red w/ white stripe.

ahh I’ll take a look once I get off work and post a picture of what I find.
After looking more closely at your pictures, you're missing the blue wire that supposed to be connected to the pump itself. Below is a picture I added a red arrow to, showing where the blue wire is supposed to be. That explains why you couldn't find a place to plug in the other wire.
Here's a picture of the wire that should be coming from the PS pump.

that would make sense. I’m gonna look of the blue wire is just tucked in somewhere. Im wondering how long that has been unplugged. I don’t remember unplugging it, or seeing a blue wire. Is that something I would have noticed driving if that was un plugged?
So I took a closer look. For sure missing that blue wire. And the wire I’m trying to connect is the red/white wire. Thanks everyone for the quick help.
Looks like I never had it to begin with. What exactly does this affect? Should I get it put back in?

It's a pressure switch that tells the ECU to command additional steps from the idle air control valve when the steering is under load to help keep the engine from stalling. If you can turn your steering wheel lock to lock without the engine stalling, you should be fine.

gotcha, when I turn the steering wheel all the way over either way it does sometimes drops rpms. But never came close to stalling on me.
