HVAC cluster lights, dimmer switch not working

Reposting cause it was gonna be left in answered where it previously was.

So I was in the process of switching out the lights of my hvac, ashtray, cig light as well as my cluster and key ring lights to LEDs. I made sure every single light was working before I put everything back together. Everything was working so I put everything back together dash, center console cluster etc. I tested the lights again with everything put back together and now the hvac lights, cig light, and ash tray light won’t work. Also my lights will not dim anymore..

Now the lights that turn on when you push them on the hvac all work still.

the cig light plug works still when I plug my radar in.

intercooler sprayer still works.

Stereo still works

Heres what I tried:
fuses 20 and 21 under good, twilights still on.
Dimmer fuse
bad grounds associated with dimmer switch

Everything checked out and I am completely lost. Anyone know what it could possibly be??

is it just a bad dimmer switch?

I think mine did this once, when the plug worked it's way out of the switch, but I assume you checked that already?

Yeah, that was one of the first things I checked when I noticed lights wouldn’t dim. When that happened were your gauge cluster lights still on?

thats where I’m lost cause how are some lights not working but the gauge cluster is bright as ever.

I want to say they were on, yeah. For some reason, I remember the cluster being separate. It's been a while, though.

Have you tried swapping the stock bulbs back in to see if works like regular, I think I have read somewhere that led bulbs don't like to be dimmed or they don't respond well to dimmers? My Evo's dimmer doesn't work either I purchased it with an aftermarket radio and I think issue is the dimmer/ ground connection issue on the stock radio harness.

Yeah, stock bulbs won’t work either..

I thought it was a bad ground too, but my dimmer worked perfectly before. I think it might be the switch itself, got one coming in hopefully it fixes it.

What bulbs did you use for the hvac controls. Mine are not working. Also what's the best way to pull out the hvac controls so I can get to the bulbs. I can only get it out a few inches. Do I have to disconnect the cables?
