Thank you sir. Yeah it was built by AP Racing. I happen to visit his shop ever so often and ran into this guy. Once he got done with this build he posted it for sale. We negotiated a little and came to an offer to good to pass up. Especially with the parts involved and clean title 05 evo with 86k miles on body and very few on the build. Talked with AP for sometime about the major components of this car but missing a lot of the small details. But the motor is a 2.0 156mm aluminum RnR aluminum rods with wiseco pistons, K1 88mm billet crankshaft, acl racing bearings, inline racing port cylinder head with kelford 280 cams, kiggly racing valve springs and ferrea std valves, sheepey manifold with tear drop up pipes, 7675, (not sure brand yet) 5" core intercooler with custom piping, magnus intake manifold, forgot what size inj (maybe 2150), i believe stock trans with 4.11 fd, QM twin clutch, haltech 1500 with haltech ic-7 display dash. Really missing some parts of course but those are the main ones i remember off the top of my head.

Im def taking it slow with his car. I remembered talking with the tuner and asking him if i should maybe swap the turbo for lilke a 67mm and he was a little against it lol he just told me to take it easy and ill get used to it. Def ready to learn about these cars. Already seem to be less of a head ache vs my sti

Thanks for that detail (alum rod motor!). Many years ago i got interested in the Bug Eye STI but an EvO mechanic friend explained the ease of power goals w/the 4G63, the iron block & simple motor & exhaust layout. 12 years later, im still an owner.

Great to have you part of the group!

I appreciate that. Same thing happened here. AP Racing works on stis but evos are his passion and what he shines on so hes always trying to get people switched over lol
Excited to learn and build

Very nice build. Id be alittle scared of the aluminum rods. I know they're slightly lighter than a forged steel rod but the duration would be a concern for me/always having to inspect them. They're made for the drag strip imo but im just paranoid. Anyway curious whats your plans for this car next? Since its already built and all..
These cars are definitely not STI's they were born for modification.

AP mentioned that that would be his biggest concern with this build as well. But his race evo ran the same spec block and same turbo and ran a 8.3 and ran it for 2 seasons without tearing into. But the one thing is he barely drove it. I dont daily mine but still. Thats why I'm thinking about switching to maybe a 6870. Well see

As far as mods I was thinking about the trans, t case, and rear diff for drag racing. Also want to get rolling anti lag for roll racing with the haltech 1500

Thank you sir. Ya its def a big jump from the power i was making on the sti. The tuner says just stick with it and youll get used to it but idk lol that 7675 is like nothing ive ever felt. Ive been talking with him about maybe switching to a 6766 and shooting for 9xx whp for a little less lag and still alot of power but who knows

Well everything in my dash works so I bought the mount to were you can mount it wherever you want.. i was going to put it right below the hazard lights button and clock. I dont have it up yet but the mount is arriving tomorrow so once its installed I'll take pics and post

Yea my cluster works too. I just like the idea of it fitting in where the cluster goes and it can do everything the stock cluster does plus some.. I figured id just replace my cluster and have a nice clean install... Info on those mounts is saying the factory surround could cover the shift lights so trying to find pics of it installed to make sure before spending 200 dollars on a mount i wont like lol..
