Thoughts on my build/ turbo thoughts

I need thoughts on the build as a whole as well as recommendations for for a turbo. I currently have a MAP evo 9 turbo. I have thought of upgrading to an FP Black and would like to stay under $2500-3k if I change the turbo. This will be a toy. Highway pulls, airstrip attacks ect. I plan to run E85

Build

Map 2.0 stage 2
Non ported head
ARP L19 Head Studs
ARP Cam Cap Bolts
HKS 280 cams
HKS adjustable cam gears
GSC springs and retainers
JM Fab Fuel Rail
2200 injectors
BPR Single fuel pump hanger
525 Hardwired fuel pump
-8an feed -6an return

Transmission recently built by Jacks Transmission with carbon syncros
Exedy HD twin

if you are going stock frame... any of the FP's are a good choice.
which one really just depends on you.

Another affordable option would be to send out your turbo to Boost Lab and have them upgrade your evo 9 turbo to a 25g or stock frame 35r.
I have one still running on my friend's car since 3 years and it makes 440whp on pump.. On E85 it can definitely make 550 or more.

Nice choice for stock block and inexpensive upgrade compared to a FP or buying a new turbo.

just depends on what you are wanting.
big numbers or a quick boosting street car.

your build looks good.

We have very similar setups. I used to run an FP Green, was a great around town, almost stock feeling turbo with more up top. Made about 500hp/400ftlbs for a few years like that.
I recently built a high comp 2.0 and moved to a red. In my application, it is perfect. I spool almost the same as the green thanks to the higher compression but put down right about 600hp/500ftlbs on this setup.
I use my car for fun around town with some highway pulls and drag racing rolled in.

I personally would recommend the Red but like everyone else on this thread said, its up to you and what you want out of the car.
Highway monster = zero
street light to street light = green/maybe red
somewhere in the middle = red/maybe black

Go look at some dyno charts in the tuning section and see how you feel about the different boost curves and think through how you will actually use the car.

One thing to note, the Green on a built bottom end would be an around town, low end torque animal.

I ended up ordering the black as it will spool a bit quicker than the black

If you want to run it hard with E85 and its tuned well , these are some power numbers. Real Dynojet numbers using STD correction
If you want to make 575-600whp an FP red mhi works well for around town and top end. Around 20psi by 4000 on a mivec engine
For 650-680whp an FP Black mhi will spool up a little slower then the red but have more top end. Around 20psi by 4300-4500 on a mivec engine
The above MHI housing turbo's should go to 7500-8000 well.

The Zero is a badass stock frame turbo but will feel sluggish below 5-5500 around town since its larger and uses the SS housing. Should make 740whp + It should go to 8000-8500 well.

I personally think a mivec 2.2 red mhi works well Or a 2.3 mhi black for a fun well rounded car.

Power is easy on these cars, keeping the transmission happy with high rpm shifts is another.
