SOLUTION - Turns out there is a difference between MR553966 (discontinued) and 1092A004 (replacement). Where MR553966 was hitting the 6 speed transmission casing, 1092A004 does not.
Having trouble getting the rear transmission mounting bracket installed properly.
Car is an 05 evo 8 MR with what I was told is a jdm 4g63 swap (including 6 speed tranny).
The mounting bracket in question is MR553966 (Link) which seems to have been discontinued/updated to 1092A004 (Link). They both appear from pictures to be the same thing and state they will work for Evo 8/9 5-speed and 6-speed models.
When trying to install the bracket onto the transmission I'm unable to tighten down the bolts all the way. With just the top bolt installed there's a gap and the mount is hitting the transmission housing. With two bolts installed it won't even get close to tight.
STM's website says the mounting bracket does not fit JDM Evo VII models but since it's a 6 speed transmission I can only assume that it is from a JDM 8 or 9.
Thoughts on what I'm missing here?

Digging a bit further it looks like there are two versions of 21832P which leaves me wondering if the bracket I don't have is actually the correct one.
Not sure about part versions but if the holes line up you could mickey mouse the thing with a stack of washers for a nice mind nagging ghetto fix to get it running...
Assuming you have all the correct motor mounts, its time to loosen all of them including the lower subframe. You can slightly jockey the motor & trans & should be able to get all the mounts to line up
We just went through this w/another member who had the MR trans retrofit & he had a similar issue w/the mounts lining up
I just dealt with the same thing on my car, ended up grinding the bracket down some on the side that faces the trans. Evidently there were two part numbers for that thing and the earlier ones don’t fit the 6 speed well

The car is an 05 MR already so should have just been plug and play. Thankfully I have the whole front end apart already as I had sent out the tcase for a Sheptrans rebuild and wanted to take care of a few other things while in there.
Right now the motor/trans is just attached to the car via the two motor mounts (L/R) so no issues with getting to just this mounting bracket. It still just doesn't line up for some reason even after grinding some off where it's hitting the body of the transmission.
Will probably try ordering a new one since its fairly cheap to see if that solves the problem (not sure how but why not). It is the older part # so maybe that's all it'll be (fingers crossed).

Funny you should say that as I just took the dremel to it to grind off some metal. Might need more grinding but no dice so far.
It is the older PN so might just get the newer one to see if that resolves the issue (and considering its only like $60.00).
As requested. You can see where I tried to grind away material on MR553966 to try and make it fit.
Thank you, this is super useful. I just finished up my design for a billet aluminum version of this part and it looks like the stock part I measured out was the old version. I'll have to double check fitment on a 6 speed as I've only checked on a 5 speed as of right now.
