Evo 7 chassis legs rust

My evo 7 back chassis legs will need some sorting out, is it a big job to get them done has the fuel tank seats subframe ect all have to come out? it needs the section of rust cut out and replaced with a new steel plate, could that be done without interfering with anything?

That's nothing! Only the infant stages of rear leg rust. You should be fine with removing all rear end components and treating the surface. There's a lot of products on the market nowadays that actually work against rust.

I know that area is tight on both sides but with the right tools I would think it can be done.

I wish I had rust like that. Mine is much much worse, and I am sure many others can relate. But yea treat it early because it gets bad and rather quickly if you drive around in snow alot

hi
real estate istanbul
Is it going to be a major job? Will the subframe exhaust and other components have to be removed in order to cure it?

That's the beginning of serious structural issues. Fix it now, and fix it properly.

I saw this today - a guy saw this issue in his Evo 3 in 2019, but ignored it. In 2021, it's potentially terminal. To do the job properly, you have to replace the whole frame rail with a new one.
