I had my clutch replaced a month ago and I gave them Trans oil and ACD oil. I didn't give them Transfer Case DiaQueen oil as I didn't think they would need it. Now my TC is dead and I am sending it off to Shep to rebuild. They stated they didn't drain the TC but when I pulled the plug on it, I am pretty sure I saw red in with all that black metal which used to be my TC.
Is it common to loose TC oil in replacing the clutch? I am thinking you have to remove that stub shaft from the drivers side of the trans which goes into the TC so I suspect it would loose a lot of the TC oil and someone topped it off with ACD fluid.
Do you loose TC oil when replacing the clutch?

The fill hole is higher than the tail shaft. You pull the tail shaft, then what's going to happen. Yesterday I had mine up on the jacks replacing the TC oil. As an Evo owner it's important you spend time under the car understanding how things go together. There is a lot of maintenance you can do yourself, otherwise make sure it goes to an evo knowledgeable mechanic who will write a list of the things he is doing and you get to agree on it before the work starts.
The oil that comes out when you pull the intermediate shaft is trans fluid. Its always worth checking T-case oil when you take stuff apart but shouldn't need any after just a trans removal.
