**noob alert**
Just had my AEM UEGO n autometer boost gauges installed in my evo.
**Previous owner said it was flashed, but they also said the water pump was redone and it popped about 2 and a half weeks later.**
At idle, the car hovers between 15.2 to as high as 16.7. WOT I get a 13.6 reading as i spool, then come down around 12.5-12.2 once i reach about 5k RPM. These are my mods:
Autozone special intake
Atmospheric BOV
MBC currently reading 15psi
HFC, Invidia pipe from cat back.
Car has about 88k miles.
My biggest concern would be are these numbers safe?
Wouldn't it read rich(er) under WOT if there were boost leaks? I've been scrolling through some threads, understanding bits and pieces, but it's hard to find a similar scenario that i have. If the boost leak test comes back with no leaks, this is definitely tune related? Any help is more than appreciated.

Looks like you recently picked up this EvO & w/an unknown tune history? Sure, its time for a boost leak test & correct any found. Time for a re-tune for sure IMO. Do you know the shops that tune EvO's in your area?

I believe it was an OEM fuel pump to begin with, the pump replacement was done under my ownership. I had mentioned getting a 255 to my mechanic, he said it was better to just get the OEM. Mechanic (not tuner) also said these 13 AFR's are fine and shouldn't do any damage..but some of these threads say otherwise. I just want to ensure longevity of my setup

You can't run these motors that lean*. From the factory they dip into the 10s. Your mechanic sounds like more of a generalist and not necessarily an evo/dsm specialist. It's really hard to say what's going on though, you should have a tuner look over your ROM and some logs and see what the deal is.

Are you sure the AFR meter is correctly calibrated?
Can you get a data log that includes load, AFR and boost pressure (along with RPM, TPS, etc)? I would expect that you're at 0 PSI around 90 load on a stock intake and being somewhere over 200 as you get to 14 PSI (don't quote me on exact numbers).
Given you have an aftermarket intake, it is possible that it is causing the issue. If the MAF sensor is unable to get clean airflow through it, it will under-read airflow and only give a correspondingly low fuel injection, resulting in high AFR's. It happened to my car - filter ripped apart and blocked part of the MAF sensor so it under-read but my MAP sensor said I had high boost. This resulted in AFR's 17+. I reckon the other suggestions you've already received are more likely than mine given the symptoms.
In case the AFR readings are correct, do not boost much if at all until it's sorted.

Maybe if the leak is at the sensor itself? That sounds way too weird to diagnose without logs. I agree with the others that you should take it to a tuner - I would personally rather a diagnosis in person for something like this.
Somewhat related - if you haven't already, purchase Evoscan and order a 1.3U datalogging cable if you plan on diagnosing and/or tuning yourself in the future.

Looking at log ID 59, your TPS spikes from ~13% to ~60% and then back to 13%, which I doubt you actually did? It doesn't look like there are any other weird TPS spikes in the log, so keep an eye on that.
Your AFR's are not reporting anything crazy in the log, I'm not going to check that it's perfect because I'm not the right person to answer that, but looks like it tapers the right way while under load. However, I am surprised that it sticks to 14.7 perfectly while cruising and never goes above that which is suspicious. Where did you get your equation from? You should create your own equation from your own testing and O2 sensor documentation if you haven't already. i.e. what voltage range does the O2 sensor report between and what are the corresponding AFR's for those?

Please check your equations you are using and I don't think you should be boosting in the meantime. My guess is that your calcs are wrong and that you're actually hitting somewhere in the low-mid 20's, assuming your airflow log is correct. I bet Load 1B has not been set up correctly for logging in your ROM and that your JDMMAP calc is wrong but please verify. Load 1B only applies if you have a Tephra ROM but you still need to set the correct MUT addresses for it and set the scaling correctly.

i believe i have tephramod? virtual dyno shows "01 evo 7 ralliart edm 90550001.hex" when i dropped the map into it.
i didn't alter any of the equations, i was unaware i had to do so. you're correct as i'm definitely not running 33psi, my boost gauge reads n holds 18psi.
could you maybe point me in the right direction of which MUT address i'd need?
