Electronic noise from car
Electronic noise from car
Anyone know what this sound is? Only happens now and then it comes on for a minute or two and goes away , usually hear it when slowing down, it sounds like a electronic component, sounds like coking from the front of the car
Hello @Conorc233
Might be kinda tough to diagnose based on your comments? When i hear the "Electronic Noise" reminds me of hearing a whine through your stereo speakers where a noise filter / suppressor is needed
Maybe a sound clip would help?
Cheers, Joe

@MinusPrevious its an Evo7 GSR and yeah it has AYC, the AYC seems good tho you can hear the pump kick in when you press the accelerator and it only has the 1 light on the tarmac, usually when there AYC problems those 3 lights all light up together

OP, your AYC pump will be in the boot, right? If the sound is from the engine bay that would rule out fuel pump and ACD/AYC pump.
Could be the A/C pump or something on the secondary belt? Somewhat reminds me of when my A/C pump failed which caused the secondary belt to start slipping over it and then eventually it broke the A/C pulley. Sounded like machine gun at that point and I only realised the sound was coming from my car because everyone was staring at me/my car.

@HyperDisorder yeah AYC pump is in the boot, I was thinking it could be the A/C aswell, Would the A/C still work if that noise is happening i still have to have cold A/C while that noise happens, I must try driving it with the A/C off and see if it still makes that noise
Yeah, will be an easy test provided the A/C clutch does engage and disengage properly.
It could also be the alternator - I've got no experience in that, but it also engages and disengages while driving. Should hit 14V at the battery if it's working.
