EVO 8 Coolant leak behind intake manifold???

So recently one of my lines for the throttle body that get coolant ruptured so I replaced it. Now a couple months later I noticed my evo losing some coolant so I did a pressure test on the system and found this leak from behind the intake manifold is there a coolant line that could be causing it to drip from the actual manifold down to the block? I have a video but it doesn’t let me upload it here so I screen shotted parts of the video.

Yes there are barb fittings back there for the heater core and throttle body. And also of course the cross over tube from the water pump around the rear of the block.

well it’s coming right off the intake manifold it’s not the water pipe cause that’s lower down. So I’m wondering is there a water line that is attached to the intake manifold that runs back there making it look like it’s dripping from the intake manifold? And if there is is it a hose?

There are no coolant lines to the intake manifold, just throttle body.

so if it’s dripping coolant from the intake manifold when I put pressure it can be coming from somewhere else and dripping there?

Id jack the car up and look from underneath, its more than likely its coming from the water pump/ cross over pipe.

Heater hose and throttle body hoses run right next to cylinder 4 on intake manifold.

Probably best to coolant pressure test at temp the system to find leak.

bypass the coolant lines to the TB...
then see if it stops

I did do a system pressure test that’s how I saw it leaking I will be checking again right now with a camera to see if I can get a better view back there

Use your hands and feel where the coolant pipe meets the water pump on the passenger side of the engine bay. Some ideas. The water pipe might not be sitting flush in the water pump. The rubber seal might be compromised. There could be a crack on the water pipe. Try to get your phone below the intake manifold for photos.

you have 2 circuits back there both on the right hand side of the back of the head if your standing infront of the car looking at the engine (Gearbox side)

One goes up to the throttle body to cool it, The other runs through to the firewall for your heater core.

Id say its one of these lines or the clamps which is where your leak is coming from. Probably have to get your hands dirty and get in there and check these clamps to begin with. From factory they are those silly spring tension clips which can break or lose tension over time. I would pull all these lines off 1 by 1 and replace with proper worm clamps and nip them up. wipe away the evidence and then re test.

Theres no way the water will be coming from the head unless ur head is cracked and if that was the case youd be overheating your engine pretty quick and youd know about it. Theres no coolant in the intake manifold itself and any coolant that does end up in there will get sucked into the combustion chamber.

The only other thing that is down there is the coolant pipe that runs from the water pump to the thermostat but this wouldnt just randomly leak around the back of the motor.

I’m having a similar issue. Did you find out where the leak was coming from?
