So the OEM battery tray has the 4x 12mm bolts, and 1x 10mm bolt. The 10mm is holding on this little metal plate ^ behind my thumb in the picture.

Can I remove this plate entirely? Does it serve any grounding purpose or is it just to keep the wires from flopping around?

Yes. you might want to unbolt every cable from the fuse batt terminal and straighten/route them.

Yep! I only have like 150 miles on it and I'm kinda missing the six speed from a street driving perspective, but not grinding 4th gear is nice.

 

I thought a TRE built trans would look fresher
It would look cleaner without those wire loom thingers on single cables too

 

I have a spare set of mini battery terminals if you need them.
