Gauge Help...please

I am going to order the gauge face/mount(3 gauge spaces, from Gruppe-s, replaces the spot where the factory radio is located). I need to know what gauges to get. I am leaning toward the A'pexi set (ELII).....white face. I am not sure on a couple of points though...

1)60 or 52mm(i think 60 will be better)
2)where do I put the control unit, as required for the gauges?
3)Are the A'pexi the best choice for the money? Is there a better one?
4)Is the install pretty easy? I am fairly proficent with radio installs, but I realize this is a little different.
5)What is the difference between mechanical and electrical gauges?(that might be a dumb question)

Any thoughts are appreciated!!

Personal Preference?
No idea

Pretty easy
Mechanical gauges bring the input to the gage, i.e. you have a vacume hose to the back of the gage for boost pressure, and with an electronic gauge, the vacume line goes to a sensor mounted in the engine bay, then the wires go to th
e gauge.

i prefer a larger gauge, (craig hardy 60mm with 2 5/8 guages dremelled in)

Mech gauges usually have a bigger sweep..

I'm going through the process of finally learning the pipe thread sizes and differences between NPT and BSPT.. 1/8" is not universal.
That's the only tricky part. i got a Greddy Oil Block adapter and i'm taping into the 1/8" BSPT plugs for my autometer Oil temp and Oil Pressure. Autometer uses NPT, so getting adapters is a little bit of a pain..

Do some searching.. there are ALOT of posts on guages here.. This is just my experience..

i got the greddy block too and i ended up getting a bspt fitting and running a hose to the firewall for the sensor instead
