Are there any downsides/long term effects of the Lancershop bushing kits?

I've read so many good things about the Lancershop bushing kits that I'd really like a set. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks that there will be any downsides to the kit.

The reason I ask is because these bushings are metal, and the stock ones are rubber. Do you think that the added stiffness from the metal bushings will have any negative effects?

Also, there are three bushing kits on the Lancershop page, do you need at three kits to do the whole car, or can you get one big kit?

Thanks all!

people have said vibrations from solid mounts will make your radiator leak. but in my experience thats BS, i installed polyurethane and aluminum bushings everywhere on my camaro and the radiator is fine, plus the handling is awesome.

vibraions from what?...the shifter bushings have nothing to do with the radiator though?...i have had them opn for about 2 months now and i love them

as for which kit you'd need...you need to sets if you want the whole car done which is the in the car bushings and under the hood bushings

IMO the linkage bushings (underhood bushings) are the ones that make the most difference. The kit of 8 for inside does very little. I do love the two linkage bushings though. They made a very nice difference.

..forgot to mention. I've had my bushings in for about 5 months now and love them; no problems or complaints. After intalling a few sets of these I don't really see any potential for long term issues. It's a very benign mod.

I have had them in my car for almost 10k miles. no problems what so ever. No gear shift grinds that people ***** about, nothing... The tranny shifts are smooth as a hot knife through cold butter.

I have the two under hood metal bushings. The gear shift has tightened up a little and I don't tend to miss third anymore (think that's maybe just me!)

I'd recomend using the metal bushings. Is there a danger of added wear on the gear box / linkage over time? Possibly, though it seems hard to see how. You could also argue that the stock rubber bushings will deteriate over time, causing increasiongly poor linkage control which would have a greater possibility of gear box wear.

Fun musing on this, as always.

Well, I was thinking about getting the poly ones, since they would be less harsh, but I've heard so many good things about the metal ones, I may just do that...

Thanks all!

More precise. And with a short shifter and counterweight shift knob, it's like click click click!
