Possible to overfill driveline fluids??
Possible to overfill driveline fluids??
I know its bad to over fill ones oil which could cause bubbling/frothing.. or something.. Is this the same for ones TC, Tranny, and Rear diff?.. Whence changing my rear diff, i had a heavy over flow coming out of the fill plug when i put the bolt in. Just making sure this is a-ok...
Thanks..

They all start flowing out the hole when full. If the car isn't level or if you shove a bunch of fluid in there without letting the excess escape, you could overfill it. Having a little extra in shouldn't harm anything. I usually have a steady stream coming out when the fill bolt goes back on. Friends of mine purposely leave the front jacked up and the rear on the ground to squeeze a bit extra in the tranny
For the gearbox, it should be okay. It's better to have too much than not enough. It will just burn off the excess.
Same goes for the diff. It'll just have more fluid to squish around, and perhaps expose the seal to a little more fluid.
But it shouldn't do anything bad.
