two suggestions.

1) big uhaul truck and trailer for evo.

2) if that's way more space than necessary, get a friend with a fullsize van or SUV. they have more space than the small pull-behind uhaul and aren't nearly as scary >60mph.

We can't get a tow bar & ball for Evos in Australia - can someone direct me to a pic and a supplier?

top gear tried it once too, with an evo 7, trying to see how fast it could go with a trailer. i think it went about ~60mph or so, but the trailer blew apart due to the amount of drag and force, haha. good powerful evo's, broke the record speed for trailers.

That was at about 130mph, not 60mph. I bought one from a guy on this forum, named rallytrack.

U-haul won't rent you a trailer for a car that is not rated to tow. As part of the rental process, you have to tell em what kind of car will be towing the trailer. When they see you are driving an Evo, they will stop you right there.

Just rent a Uhaul truck. If you are moving far away, put the Evo onto a trailer behind the truck. If you are moving nearby, have a friend follow you in the Evo as you drive over to your new place.

If you need to rent a uhaul trailer, rent the little plastic "sport trailers". They are reasonably small, somewhat aero and light weight. We would have done that ourselves for One Lap if they were in stock (everyone else nabbed them before us). We borrowed our One Lap trailor from a friend who works at The Tire Rack. He uses it with his C5 vette to tow race tires, tools, etc,.

We had that thing packed with 600lbs of race gas, tools, two extra wheels/tires, and tons of other supplies. Most of the time, we couldn't even tell we were towing anything. 500hp helps, of course

Ach PA to TX. I'm not sure what would be worse....

1. Driving an Evo (that really isn't supposed to tow anything) across half the country and hoping nothing goes wrong while you drag a 1000lb trailer.

or

2. Driving a slow 455 Uhaul truck at 55 mph across those neat roads that pass between Tx and PA when you could be zipping along in your Evo.

btw...Have you thought about crating up your stuff and just shipping it via freight? If everything you own will fit in a small uhaul trailer, it prob wouldn't cost much more to ship the stuff. That way, you could actually enjoy the drive across this great country.
