Question Evo HID..on & off issue.

Hey guys/gals. I recently had this issue with my right side headlight. Last week I had turned my headlights on and noticed by the reflection of a car in front of me that the right side was out. I drove a few miles with it on and turned them off. I got to my desination and tried again...still the same problem. Now about 30 min. later I tried again and what do you know, the right side was on. Turned them off and and hr. later tried again...right headlight is out.

Being frustrated at this point I dropped by the nearby Mitsu dealer and informed them of the situation. And of course when they turned them on, it worked fine. They checked the ballasts/wires and could not detect a problem and was told they might have to remove the frnt bumper. Now the techs seem like nice guys and ordered a replacement bulb in the meantime and issued me a "customer dropped by and is aware of the hlight issue and is currently being resolved" form on letterhead in case I were to get pulled over.

But my question is, have any of you guys/gals experienced this on and off headlight situation? I've done a search and wasnt able to find anything pertaining to this. Btw, the right side seems to be working fine (3 days no problems since). Any suggestions/comments?

btw, 4k mi right now.

When I first got my car one of the headlights would stay very blue so the dealer replaced the light bulb and everything was back to normal. I would just let the dealer take care of it, this is what warranties are for. :-)

Yes, they have to remove the front bumper to replace the head light bulb...

Good luck.

Yea you're right. Gotta take advantage of the warranty, especially it being Mistu.

thanks

I had the right side low beam go out a few weeks back. The manual gives no instructions on replacing that bulb due to its location in the engine bay so I took it in to the dealer. They looked it over and told me that it wasn't just the bulb but the control unit also that had burned out.

Took a week and a half to get the parts in but it was all covered under warrantee.

Good luck,
CoachG

P.S. The bumper didn't have to come off in my case. The tech guy just said he worked around the battery.

It sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere. Perhaps unhooking and reconnecting all the nearby electrical connectors will do the trink.

Do those go out of warranty at 36K? How much would those cost to replace?
