over the flange (meaning include it in the measurement) from the cat to resinator measures 21.25 roughly

From resinator to rear section flange measures 16 again over the flange, and all measure ments were taken from passenger side of the pipe (shorter side, side it bends towards)

im talking with another member about getting his midpipe for a reasonable price... which should be cheaper than removing the resonator... if not.. thats my only other option..
thanks again for the details...

spoke with hks... they told me it;s 99% likely an evo 7 exhaust will not fit on an evo 8. He also said the same was true if i tried to use and evo8 midpipe with an evo7 rear section..

my only choice now is to sell it as an evo7 exhaust (i beleive in karma unlike the pos that sold this to me), and hope someone wants it.. otherwise its gonna be hangin on my wall as art...
damn.

why can't you jsut take it to a shop and have the resinator cut out and replaced with piping... You'll pick up flow and a little more sound... It will be more loud then it is deep

If the only problem is the resonator being too long, why not just spend $100 or so to get it removed and reweld new pipe on? That is more than likely going to be the cheapest fix.

better yet, talk to an exhaust shop and see if they will cut it and move it closer to the cat or further ... I know most shops will do minor stuff like that for 35 bux or 50 bux cause its only costing them 30 mins if anything
