How's your front air dam???
So...what does it look like???
|
if there are any scrapes it would be from flying debris on the road. I cant drive over any parking blocks and I dont becasue if I did my IC would get crushed from it sitting so low. I voted its not perfect but its not cracked either. =)

i hear you. Sometimes when I park, I get out and there is still like 3 feet till the curb. If I am all the way in the space, then I leave it like that.

I voted "perfect" because I have never done anything like impact a curb. I just judge the space before I enter it, and make sure that I won't scrape as I come to a stop. There are some scratches from rocks and stuff, but in no way would I ever let it scrape on a curb or a parking lot "stopper".

I had an extreme s-10 before the evo, i'm used to not going to close to curbs and backing into stalls, but am still knocking on wood.

100% perfect

I tagged mine pulling out of a steep driveway but always stop way short of curbs.

Mine's pretty scraped and scratched but I don't really care, you can't see it unless you're under the car. What's more of a problem is something I spotted when putting on a new OEM front bumper a couple weeks ago. 3 screw hole pieces that allow the lip to be fastened to the bumper were broken off (they're normally glued/melted on to the lip). Which explained the large gap I was seeing between the bumper and lip. I epoxied them back in place and they seem to be holding up, though I don't know for how long.
The OEM part number for the lower front lip is MN126784WA; $176 from MitsubishiParts.net. Yikes. Keep in mind that unless you need it in white, you'll need it painted as well. Anybody know if there's an aftermarket front lip spoiler that completely replaces the stock air dam? |
i've driven lowered cars for a few years and i never scrape as much as i do on the Evo... i've had a prelude that was 3 inch from the ground on stock bumpers and i never scraped it... mine is not cracked, but it's got some scratches on each side from driveways... thanks Louisiana...

i have one good curbing, the result of the wifey driving, but besides that i am good. and it is way low on the drivers side front. cant really notice unless you are looking for it. besides that getting more and more rock ships daily. ouch.
|
I went a LOOONG time without hitting a curb...
But only lasted 6 months before cracking the spoiler due to "heavy snow scooping" I was having too much fun in a snowstorm!! :D |
my rims almost all have some scrapes...as well as the underside of the air dam. i guess i'm just not too careful
i figure i'll replace the rims one day and get a lip for the bumper, so i don't mind a scrape or 2 on these ones {thumbup} |
