Anyone else's Evo interior make noises when really cold

I have been noticing that my car makes noises when it's really cold. It will eventually go away but the interior of my car(more the rear) makes squeeking noises when turning and going over bumps and such. Anyone else's car make interior noises when really cold? I knew I bought a car with a highly cheap interior but this is ridiculous.

i hear ya on that one, I hate it, my rattles like no other, especially when cold. Solution is to get your car really really warm inside, use that motor to help get some of that heat in your cabin, trust me, boost makes it hot inside of the car when you add the heater fan to it.

But you just gotta deal with it. One reason I want a supra now.

yup - happens to alot of people - this happens when the car is really cold - in the summer it doesnt do it for me :)

Everything in the whole world makes more noise when it's cold. Do you realize what cold does? It makes molecules get closer together. This makes the gaps between parts get bigger. That means there is more room for them to rub each other. It's just life. Maybe you're better suited to an IS300. When you buy an EVO you are not buying an all around comfortable semi sports car. Almost ALL of your 30K goes to the powertrain. You're lucky it even comes with a seat. So don't say, "Oh I thought I bought a 30K dollar car. It shouldn't squeak." Yeah, you bought a 30K dollar car that out PERFORMS supercars on road courses. You did not buy a 30K dollar car with state of the art sound deadening properties. Wrong market, pal. Wrong place to complain as well. Maybe the IS300 boards will have more sympathy. Just my 2.

Don't get dizzy!

Hey man, you have to admit, it's a really stupid complaint. Why do people have to ***** so much about little things? I guess I'll never understand that. It's just my reaction to it, so live with it. THanks! ;)

I had a weird noise toward the bottom of my passenger's side door today. I think it was ice on the outside of the car, but it sounded like my speaker was emitting a static sound. It wasn't there at lunch time so it was probably ice.

My evo creeks and rattles everywhere since day 1.....It makes more noises in the cabin than a prostitute on crack!!! I questioned the dealer about but I get the run around. Apparently creeking and rattles is a common complaint in this forum.

Yeah mine sqeaks and rattles even in the summer. It doesn't affect that turning, acceleration, or braking so I don't care. :)

i totally agree with you. the evo is a drivers car, not a luxury car. it could ****ing bark at me all day and i would still love to drive it :D

You definitely bought the wrong car to worry about squeaks. Heck one of my managers at work has a Z05 and it squeaks too.

rExTuHfEr Dec 22, 2004 04:55 PM

sounds like my back window is rattling....

propellerhead Dec 22, 2004 05:04 PM

The only squeak Ihave that bothers me is caused by the rubber seal around the sunroof. As long at I keep it clean and lubricated, everything is cool. The best things in life are like that...

Massevo8 Dec 22, 2004 05:09 PM

Mine is also a squeaker:spin:

wingnut Dec 22, 2004 05:37 PM

No squeaks but creaks. The most noticable is the rear deck. The car sounds like I'm in the hold of a ship until it warms up. Then again it's 4 degrees outside right now.
