some evo VII q's

What's up guys, I figured I'd break the ice and post something. So I have a question that's been eating at me for a while.

The Evo VII was never imported to the US (I assume, I dont really know) and alot of the pictures show that it is in fact a right hand drive vehicle. But also in 2 Fast 2 Furious, Paul Walker had a left hand drive evo VII. Did they import some VIIs to the States or did it come from a European Country or something? If they did actually import them to the states, how much would one run for pricewise?

On Motorex, it costs approximately $16K to $17K to make an R32 or an R33 skyline street legal, and around $25K to make the R34 legal. What would it cost to make an Evo VII legal and how much would one approximately cost if bought straight out of Japan?

Thanks Guys and it's good to be on such a great forum!

there are very few "legal" evo vII in the us. most are what are called "grey market" cars. Basically a vin taken from a wrecked lancer that was then transplated onto a vII brought over as parts or as a "track only" car. Evolution importers claims to be able to legally bring in the VII's (or they did, but I've never heard anything good about them). Also I believe that Motroex is out of business. If I were you I would go with the VIII that you can buy at the dealer and run without worries, or wait for a IX and see what goodies come with that,

YMMV,
Greg

As of now, I'm pretty sure the VII isn't approved for legalization for street use right now. Someone else might be able to shed more knowledge on this than me though.

That works for me, I will hold off and look at the evo 9 then, any word on a street date for it?

just curious but why bother looking for VII when you have 05 VIII models have most

of the features JDM VII gots? OR..you can wait for the IX. I have a 03 GSR and i'll be

definitely trading it in once IX comes out unless we actually get turbo skylines

here. i heard there is a chance of us getting the N/A GTS models but that would be

just like getting an infiniti G35x.

it'd be a collector car over here plus the VII looks>VIII looks

I wasnt really sure about the main differences between the VII and the VIII, just looks. The Evo is definitely my dream car, now it's just a matter of whether I want to wait for the IX or hop in an VIII.

This is quite true. No one has one over here, and I think it looks better than the VIII. That's the main reason for me asking so much about it.

Why don't you get a 05 RS and buy the hood, spoiler and bumper? Basically the same as the EVO 7 RS without the AYC and the 10.5 hotside

The 05 VIII RS doesnt come in black or blue :p I like those "resemble a bruise" colors

there are about 30 in the states "legally". I spent months talking to evoimports.com but after hearing numerous stories about cars being ripped off from other companies I backed off. So now I have the evo 8.
